My guess is that Attorney General Ashcroft will appeal it to the US Supreme Court. And there, who knows?

Me being in school and being an Atheist and having/choosing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance I find it not offensive in the least bit. I think that this shouldn’t have got nearly as close as it has to be banned.. Just because it says 'Under God' doesn't mean we should not say it, it's showing the passion that we have for the country. Epically at a time like this, we need to be more of a Contrary, and support it, not ban the Pledge of Allegiance.

Well, I had to say the Pledge nearly 40 years ago when I was in Elementary School. I don't remember anything wrong and offensive.

Only the God I thought of was different from the one the other kids thought of.

Or to put it differently, the other kids thought of a different God than me.

God is God.

In any language and culture.

I think this whole Court ruling should be thrown out and kids made to say the Pledge as it has always been said.

Hope I don't offend anybody but folks, God is God.

Tell that to a Druid. Of course in their case, the school may actually be under God.

I will never understand the symantics of this problem.

As an athiest Who cares if god is in the pledge. Tell your kids there is no god and be done with it.

As a person of any faith put your all powerful being into the prayer.

If you can't pledge to any other entity than god then don't believe the words you say.

Kill the first person who does not put their hand on their heart though.

Ever hear kids recite the pledge? They may as well be reading the phone book. It has definitely lost its meaning over the years. When “under God” was added to the pledge in the 50’s (unconstitutionally) to fend off communism (unconstitutionally) it might have meant something. But today, blah. IMO it doesn’t belong there, but now that’s it’s there the religious nuts of the country will fight tooth and nail to keep it in.

I do not care about the under god phrase in there but my main concern is that the pledge is said.

I feel with out the undergod part there is kinda a pregnant pause which does not feel right.

As far as fighting dem dair commies that was a good fight yehawww the only good red is a dead red.

What is wrong with saying Under Allah?
Under Satan... who CARES?!
I think the pledge is important.
Say under this freakin' roof.. it really doesn't matter..
Saying the pledge DOES matter.
