Am I too old to join?

The Navy?

It doesn't seem to be in the cards for me to put myself through school any time soon. So researching my options...

These look very interesting. A couple of friends went into the Navy and never got out. After talking to them, it doesn't seem like a terrible idea. One close friend that joined at 24 told me that I wouldn't get too much crap for joining late.

Is this a bad idea? Am I smoking crack?

I was in the U.S.N. for four years, but had other plans by the time it came to re-up. Two years on the U.S.S. Independence. Loved sea duty...was single and glad to be out of the house and N.Y.C.
Learned alot about life and it was all in all a rewarding experience. Radar rating is also a good choice, computer are the way to go now, but as I see by your profile, there's always plenty of painting to do also..LOL Beats being a ground pounder!!!!!

heh, just before my 28th birthday, I walked into the USAF recuriters office and told them if they would let me fly something cool I'd join up... lol they told me I was too old

I'm broken; couldn't sign up because of too many injuries. Kept me out of the AF Academy.
