Now mine was no trouble to wire.. but getting it to work was another story

When I did my first one it wasn't too hard...but just because its a learning experience....
When we build the new house here in a few weeks....the whole house will be wired....and full of conduits also for future upgrades..

they're on the same room. I like the experience of doing it myself, if I run into problems, I troubleshoot it etc. etc. from installation to drivers setup and making them all see each other. it's cool

I have found the Linksys router makes it pretty simple (lots of alternative brands now, plus wireless is available) alot of features have been added since I purchased it for 200$!!! (its now about 80$ ive brought it up to date thru firmware upgrades) ive had it about 2 years now, still the same you buy now, when I purchased it a static IP was needed, its all changed and lots easier to make it work for cable or pppoe setups...
