" The Brio is the top end of 1.3mp cameras, lots of users and pro-reviews agree with its extraordinary quality.
The really big issue with me is the size of the camera, if it is so large that it stays home on the shelf, then you won't have it go grab that beautiful cloud/sunset/babydoll
The Brio D-100 is about the size of a pack of cigs but an inch or so longer.
c&p from my previous post on the Brio->>
"The lens was developed specifically for a digital camera and not a lens from a film camera.
The aquire times and shutter lag are impressive, quick.
The reviews are great, according to end users and professional reviewers.
Olympus Brio D-100 is rated as the Mercedes of 1.3mp cameras
It uses the cheap smartmedia memory, see
www.newegg.com
Only 2 AA's needed, K-Mart now has some 1600mah ones, $10.99/4 By Ray-O-Vac, charger is $10, they've come out with a 1 hour charger but I don't know the price. They have em at K-Mart & Wal Mart.

" This affordable entry-level camera offered stellar 1.3 megapixel images "
and
" Blending updated technology with a simple point-and-shoot interface, Olympus has created the Mercedes of low-end cameras. Still, the D-100 lists for $350 -- expensive for a 1.3 megapixel camera. "

"The D-100's lens seems to be of pretty high quality."
"The D-100 had some trouble in the low-light category, as we were only able to obtain bright, clear images at a light level of eight foot-candles (0.88 lux). "
"A nice little camera with good photo quality at a budget price "

IW, the critical eye can destroy the pride you've built up after many hours work.
Personally,, I judge photos by their "Viewing Range"
A typical 5x7" is viewed at about 2' or so
a 8x10 is viewed at 3' or more, usually.
Just my thoughts, and some other users of this camera who print large photos
