I suppose this is part of the process of not giving in to terrorism. If they knock it down, build it back bigger!

1776 being significant in the US as that is the year that the US declared independance from Britain.

Yeah, I saw the significance in height. It won't show up in metric-centric books, though - 541 was not a significant date for the US, AFAIK.

There probably will be one; the World Trade Center was the main radio/tv transmission antenna for the New York metropolitan area.

But why do you have to make a Christian issue out of what was a national, nondenominational tragedy? That's the kind of attitude that makes Muslims, even sympathetic ones, suspect this really is a holy war between the two religions.

The attack was a non-denominal murder of our citizens. To call it a tragedy is too much like a fire at a nightclub. This was an attack by an enemy power as a way of re-declaring war, since we didn't listen the first time the Towers were attacked.

Considering our country is based on the Christian God I don't think it would be a bad thing at all to have a Christian radio station up there, but really any radio station would be fine. Like you said Theophylact, a lot of radio stations already ran off the world trade centers.
