Oo, I missed that match!! Sounds like a good one.
Although, I must say, beating the current English squad is nothing to really sing about...
But it will be interesting to see how India fare against Pakistan, though.
Cheers
Mick

Heheh Mick... after their series with the Kiwis (took place a month before the cup) Series Highlights ... it is definitely something to sing about !
That plus India has advanced into the Super six (even if they loose against Pakistan) !

Vass, crickets is mainly played in Tests, which are each five days long, and often best of five series.
The current cricket matches are what has been dubbed one-day matches, where, instead of having to bowl out the opposition team completely so you can try to bat like Test cricket, it's a fixed set of deliveries ( overs - each consiting of 6 deliveries), so each side gets the same number of deliveries and tries to get the highest score (without losing any wickets).
The World Cup is a round robin competition, which leads to a finals shootout between the top finishers in the round robin series, basically.
Now that I've completly confused you, try reading some info on cricket from an American viewpoint on this site.
Cheers
Mick
BTW - Australia is currently playing Namibia I'm checking the score here | |

"Cricket for Dummies"
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

Yeah, but can India beat China ?
India is now the "biggest" i.e. most populous Country in the world.
Whatabout a Traithalon, India v. China ?
Crickets, Ping Pong, and Basketball.
The 7'5" player Yao counts as two players.
