Admit nothing, deny everything, and
demand proof!
Plus, when I get to court, I always plead
nolo contendre ("no contest") This means, "While I do not contest the FACT of the ticket, here is an explanation for what happened..."
Then I stand there and BS my brains out....and the poor judge is vainly trying to make sense of the story (and whenever he stops me and tries to sum it up--and understand--that's when I add something else; i.e., "Well, sort of, your honor, except that...." )
Your job is to make sure the story never makes any sense, but still sounds fairly plausible!
The point is, you
never get to the end of the explanation... there's just
too much to it. See? Meanwhile, the judge has a case load, and wishes to get you outta there!
It works every time! I get at least one ticket a year--and they have NEVER found me guilty! EVER!!
A plea of
nolo contendre is
not a guilty plea---I've watched these poor dumb guys say "Guilty, with an explanation!" All that means is, the judge listens to your cockamamie story, then
finds you guilty!
A plea of "Not Guilty" only earns you another court date, where the officer has to come in, and then it's you against the cop, and guess who the court will believe? Yep.
