If it is the one on TV where the "chiropractor" is spouting about how good it is, I personally wouldn't waste my money on it. All it is is a fancy metallized decal designed to separate you from your $19.95 It is supposed to "passively re-radiate" the signal..from UNDER the battery

You might be better off to look to see if your particular phone has the capability to add an external antenna to help reception.

I would think that the thingy you attach to the ear piece to "direct" the waves away from your head would be closer to actually working, because if it was made out of wire, it would act kind of like a Faraday cage to help block the radiated signal form around the earpiece. But how good it works is debateable to me.

No, they don't work, if you are talking about the ones you put under your battery. I got two of them for free, so I tried them, and they didn't improve signal one bit.

I heard somewhere you get the same effect by placing a piece of tin foil under your battery

If you believe in those cell phone antennas you probably also bought one of those amazing space age marvels....

The guaranteed TV antenna system that harnesses the electrical wires in your home to give you a gigantic antenna system! A product of SPACE AGE technology, tested by NAASA (yeah with spelled like that most likely) and tested by a leading independent laboratory (in Joe's garage down the street and left into the alley.)

------- One simple 3 cent capacitor tied to a 5 cent terminal and to the AC line in a 10 cent platic housing. A true piece of junk and garbage and a rip off if there ever was one....all for ONLY $19.95.

Actually everyone they do work on some phones. I spend a lot of my time at Cingular Wireless and I have one on my nokia 6162. But the trick isn't leaving it on the outside put it inside. The 2 people at Cingular and me put the metallic piece inside directly behind the antenna part and its boosted my att signal by a bar wherever I go and Cingular stays at 4 bars on all phones they've tried it on. But make sure you dont touch the sticky part. I dont know why but they dont work right that way. But honestly there not worth 19.95 thats why I get them free there
