Regulation of cyberspace.

I've been thinking about how cyberspace should be regulated and was wondering what everyone on the board thinks.

Should it be left up to traditional nation-states?

Should a new organization be created for the purpose?

Why should the freedom on the net be regulated?

Daveleau, my question is not whether it should be regulated - it already is regulated.

My question is whether the regulation of the internet should be left to traditional nation-states, or whether we must approach the regulation of the net from a different perspective; perhaps from those that actively participate in cyberspace.

For the love of god, just leave it alone. It's the only thing I have left to live for.

If you leave it alone, the government will be all over it.

Internet taxes anyone?

I know what you mean and I see your point. I would rather have a group that does not benefit from its regulation regulating it. I could see an international group being heavily influenced if someone like Bill Gates was ont he committee. I can also see the government trying to profit off of it as well.
