hi
geeze people if you dont want it dont run it, dont bad mouth me. just was trying to help.
your judgeing my programs without even knowing me or trying them. jump the new guy I guess out of fear, grab your torches and gang up on me for no reason in the world. thats why you cant go to forums, someones gets an idea about someone and turns everyones else againt them.
I am no hacker at all, I work for the csx rail road, far from laying on a computer all day trying to mess people up. I am labeled a hacker now here. what I get for trying to help people download stuff faster in kazaa, just wanted to help because I have something good and downloads take so long. calm down, I am not a monster.

No one said you were a monster, at least I didnt The problem was that you were posting a method to subvert a rating method, which is against the forum rules. Now, that explains why the post was edited. Unfortunately people tend to react strongly to stuff like this with their torches ablaze and moral sticks held high. I doubt this is out of "fear" or a desire to "jump the new guy". Rather this is a family oriented forum where the rules, along with common morals, are upheld. There is a strong desire to keep it that way also as you will see be the responses you received. You violated the forum rules posting a "hack" for kazaa, and i use the work hack because it is a software hack to get around the rating system, you cannot deny that, the post was then edited and you were warned. However the people here react is how they choose to react. You should not come and flame them for an their reaction to a violation of forum rules on YOUR part. If you do not agree with the reaction you received, then post that in a manner that does not attack everyone else, since attacking will do little more than to tarnish an image that apparantly already isnt the brightest. For what it's worth I couldn't care much less that you posted that and don't think you're a hacker. Just try to follow the forum rules and all of this toruble should blow over.

Normally I would keep my nose out of threads like this, but I did notice something that I'd like to question. taffy was edited for violating the forum rules for posting a link to a hack. That's fine and as it should be. However, GroundZero3 also posted a link to a hack and escaped without a wrist slapping.
Did I miss something? I know zip about Kazaa except that it is used almost without exception to illegally download copyrighted material and should, by my interpretation of the forum rules, be a banned topic for discussion. If someone opened a thread about using a password cracking utility, it would be soundly thrashed, even though there may be folks who would occassionally use it for legitimate reasons. I see no reason why Kazza should be treated differently. However, it's not my place to make those decisions, so I digress.
Nonetheless, it seems taffy received fair but unequal censure.
If I missed something then I sincerely apologize.

The only way I can answer that is to repost the link. If I do and it is an illegal hack, then I'd be guilty of the same offense. Since I don't wish to incur the wrath of the mods, I'll post a link to the thread instead and you can check for yourself. Sure looks like it to me, but as I said, I know diddly about Kazaa. http://www.techimo.com/forum/tid4345...pn2/index.html

I'm not trying to shine a bad light on you, GroundZero3, and if what you posted was an acceptable, legal hack, then I sincerely apologize. It's just that the whole thing gives the appearance of unequal treatment, at least to a Kazaa ignoramus like me.
