what can you tell me about my car?

ok i've waited long enough.
i'm curious about what exactly is under the hood of my 98 grand prix. i know its a 3800 but that means nothing to me. i don't even have a book for my car so i had to figure out al the switches and stuff the hard way.

actually all i want to know is about the engine.
ya know specs and what not

That just may be the way he drives...
If he floors it at each light and accelerates really fast, his MPG is obviously going to be bad..

Another bit to consider about the 3800. Cast iron block, cast iron Heads which is just fine and dandy in my book...I hate mixing metals on an engine. They've been running the 3800 for quite a few years now. I've had plenty of people tell me about the strength of these engines ( definetely a 300k club member )

My next vehicle is going to be a 93-99 Bonneville ( SSEi if I can pull it off )

i was thinking it was beacuse my city involves almost no driving plus the crazy cold engine that dosn't even warm up by the time i get to school.

and no i don't drive like that.... especially when the engine is cold. the thing dosn't like to go very much when its still cold after it warms up on the other hand.

and redfury thats what the car dealer/macananic dude said when we got it. that it was a 300k easilly engine. he asured us that the grand prix was a better car then the 3.1 monte carlo he had out front. cut the price of the grand prix to match the monte which was really sweet.

The 3800 GM engine & Driveline is about the best built FWD unit on the market.

During the teething period, the first 2 years of production, 85/86 there were some issues with the transmission. Since those were ironed out the powerplant has shown great durability.
