My boss , should i quit?
Today my boss told me there was $500 missing from the cashier I told him that was because of a customer who bought a bunch of things on friday but since we didnt have everything in stock he got the full reciept today
My boss doesn't seem to belive this and seems to think that I stole the money , i'm very pissed of right now
I've known this guy for 6years and he pulls this crap
i'm not poor I dont have to steal anything and if I did steal something he wouldn't notice it , there is such a thing as a BACKSPACE you know , not hard to alter the total to suit my needs if i really wanted to.
I'm going to ask him tomorrow if he trust me or not , if he says no , i'm really thinking that I should quit.
If I tell him something he should belive me , or atleast investigate the matter before telling me that i'm lying.
Any opinions ?
Also i did tell him about the money on friday but he seems to have forgotten about this fact. |

I would wait until it is resolved and then decide if you should stay after they determine it was not you. If they handle it poorly (as it sounds that they are) I'd quit afterwards. If you quit midstream, they may use that in their case against you and assume you quit b/c you were guilty. It may make you look more guilty in their eyes if you quit. Stick it out, but put out a resume or other job applications elsewhere so you can slip right into another job.
I'm sorry to hear about this. I hope they find out it was not you soon.
Dave

Don't quit. You will probably need him for a reference later. He sounds kinda scatter brained to me and probably harmless. It will blow over.
However having said that, you should start looking for another, better job. Pay attention to what he says and start a journal incase he flips out and fires you. A good journal goes a long way in your favor if you need to sue him for wrongful termination, get unemployment, rebutt slander if you use him for a refrence and he 'disses you. This is really, really, important!
Be cool, calm, polite. Cover yourself, take your notes, start looking for another job.

Agreed with the above...
Can't you call the customer to confirm the finances in question?

So, let me get this straight....He bought a bunch of stuff on Friday, paid for it all, but didn't receive all of it until monday, which, after ringing up the items he didn't receive but already had prepaid for....Ohh my head hurts! Shouldn't there be some kind of receipts to show this? Shouldn't the store have been $500 over on fridays receipts?
