ANYWAY, HOW DO YOU GUYS KEEP CRAVINGS FROM COMING BACK?
get some lifesavers. they last about the same amount of time as smoking a cigarette does as long as you dont chew them. and they taste good! i smoke and havent tried to quit but ive heard this works for people. another thing to try is to chew on a toothpick. anything to keep you busy for a couple of minutes instead of smoking. this may sound crazy but ive tried this and it works for me and will work for you if you have a good imagination. just pretend you are smoking. imagine you have one in your hand and you are smoking it.

Well, I quit cold turkey a year ago and my wife still smokes in the house, in the car....haven't touched a cigarette myself. The thoughts run through my head, but I make a point of reverse rationalizing not smoking just one cigarette instead of trying to rationalize that it'll only be a couple of drags...just to tide me over. That never works...just not smoking is what does it, and it's both a mental and a physical addiction. Just depends on what part of you is stronger, the ability to mentally quit or not. Physically you can recover, it's the mental aspect that is the hardest to overcome ( at least that has been the obstacle set before me )

Man, the one time I tried snuff I about hit the floor. That stuff burned SOOOOO bad. I did a whole "bullet" shot full. Krikey.

As for quitting smoking, well I couldn't do it for the life of me. Then when I quit drinking [alcohol], I just magically lost the urge to smoke. I doubt that is the norm, though. As I can imagine most people who need to quit drinking find smoking triples when trying so. And when I say quit drinking, I don't mean I won't have a beer. When I say drinking, I mean DRINKING, DRINKING, DRINKING...

I still have to have a couple Camel Wides if I have a beer anywhere. Just can't have one without the other. But I've smoked maybe a pack in the last two months: one here, one there.

Well, nothing wrong with continuing a topic rather than restarting it...even if it's been lying low for a while! It's good to see someone using that SEARCH capability! Usually the topic just gets posted with no regard for prior discussion.

[I didn't even notice the time lapse...shows how much attention I pay to detail]
