Iraq has requested information about Swedish/Japanese Bio warfare defenses

The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet printed this today

Aparantly a request about our bio warfare defenses was made in october last year by the Iraqi Ambassador to sweden
Japan was also asked to disclose this information.

The swedish military has refused to answer any of their questions

What is this crap , are they trying to find "good" targets or what ?
or just giving some nations a warning of what might come ?

Probably looking for ways to use it. The biggest problem with bio and gas is getting it where you want it to go. It is usually windy in the desert, so things will disperse quickly and results will be localized. The windier it is the better it is for the US. If it is reallly windy they might as well throw dirt.

They are probably looking to find ways to protect themselves from their own weapons. It is not unexpected that "accidents" will happen that may be biological in nature. Their chemical gear is 1980's vintage hot, heavy, but it works. Their bio gear is basically non existant and their tanks are not sealed against either. They have no real plans in place for decontamination of personnel and equipment since they don't expect us to use these weapons. Most importantly they will run from tear gas and other placebo's if they can be convinced they are under chemical attack. This will further erode unit cohesion, except this time prisoners will need to be quarranteened in holding camps to be sure they aren't infected with biological warfare diseases. This could easly lead to slaughter by frighened forces on both sides looking out for their own health should things get out of hand.

I found a post on a forum that said according to the same newspaper "the Pentagon is going to remove all military bases from Germany or relocate them to another country".

Gas warfare was tried by both the Central Powers and the Triple Entente during the Great War [WWI].

It was found too diificult to control and a source of "friendly fire" deaths.

Just a little common pepper-spray is all it takes to cause a panic and many deaths. The key ingredients are a lot of people in an enclosed space with few exits - not so much what chemicals are used. See the recent tragedy at the Chicago nightclub. Obviously a terrorist wouldn't need weapons-grade material to carry out something along this line.
