Help! Keys locked in car!
Hey, Mead has locked his keys in his car, it's an early 90's Geo Prism.
You can find everything from bomb making to televangelists on the interenet, why not a guide on how to get in?
Does anyone know (he's completely broke)?
Sam

Wire hanger. Straighten. Bend one end into a U shape. Insert through front window glass and fiddle around.

if it doesn't have automatic locks (and since it's a geo i'm assuming not) then shahani has it. basically you just hook the wire that leads to the lock shaft thingy in the cabin and pull up. if you can, get a wedge of wood and slide in between the glass and door frame to keep the seal open. it'll help keep the seal open so you can see in.

Yep the ol coathanger is the answer. If it has autolocks, maybe you can push the button with the coathanger, I have done that before
Might try the police, They don't carry slimjims around here, but anything isworth a try

I suggest getting the police to help you. They'll make you sign a damage waiver first of course, but they usually know what they're doing.

well, he tried the wooden-block-and-hanger method, but he said even with a flashlight, all he could see down there was black.

That plastic tape they use to strap parcels is a great substitute for a coathanger, fold into a loop and try to "catch " the plunger.
Not easy but I have done it several times (legally honest).
