Gift idea help...WOMAN needed

Tis that season once again:

Want to try to get a jump on things this year, and when it comes to my GF I am constantly coming up blank. Weve been dating for 4 years now.

I need some ideas. Money running a bit tight ATM so i would really like to stay under 500. Shes not into technology at all, and what she is into her dad owns.

Things ive ruled out:
Rings(Have bought her two diamond rings int he past year)
Shoes(Do they make a pair she doesnt own??)
Clothes(Not even gonna begin to look)

Ideas so far:
Necklace
Leather Jacket(Good idea but will be nearly impossible to get the right one)

I say all of us techimoos join together and create a gift list of ideas for all of us to share to get our sweethearts. So cmon people, lets hear these ideas.

What about a get-a-way weekend for the two of you away from all the hustle and bustle of life somewhere fairly close by but out of range of everyone and your normal daily life? Just some good ole fashion quality time for the two of you?

That is the only idea I can come up with because if I was the girl I would like this provided my kids were not tag-a-longs.

Necklace Idea is nice idea, what about a nice Green Jade necklace on a strong gold chain like you suggested?

As far as the things she is into that her dad owns, is there anyway you can purchase something that is similar to what her dad owns that she can have at home? or is this way out of the question?

Other ideas, im clueless as I been single for too darn long now. Wish I could help you out. Good luck with christmas shopping, gotta do that myself.

yeah that is true..

a good experience is right up there.. and IMO can surpass material goods..

of course some of them are expensive..
(a cruise for example)

but if you go on a short one.. the prices right now are killer..
under 300 bucks for a 7 day if you get just a regular room.. (per person)

maybe look into a 3 day cruise... you can probably sneak on one for a relatively low price..

probably more expensive than you want though.. even if a few hundred a person.. but take a look on the bright side.. you get to go too! hehe

I went on something like that last summer.. it was well worth it!

of course the more exotic the destination the more $$... but if you have not been on a cruise before you will enjoy it

Edit:
Of course you will have to strongly take into account departure date and port of call where it departs.. above was just an example.. you can check out some in your area

I would have to say you should go for something non tangible. Girls like surprises that no one else has given them. If you two are adventurous types maybe try something unique like skydiving... or even indoor skydiving Links You can always make her something too. A scrapbook filled with photos and cut outs (stickers, restaurant napkins, tickets, etc) of things that you two have both been through during your years together.

It's a bit hard without knowing what kind of person she is but maybe something related to one of her hobbies. Does she have any?

Hope that helps some.

i am not a woman.. but it seems like .... those people... (the ones who are not into technology)
seem to like those... umm... what do you call it.. books!
if she likes those you could find her a rare version of one she likes, or get her one she has been wanting

if she doesnt like books you could get her something... different
like a glass rabbit or any other animal she likes made of glass

just some suggestions, whatever you get her though, make sure it screams:
"i love you........really "

OH, I though you're trying to find a woman as a gift to a buddy. Nevermind. That would totally rock.

A few ideas..

My anniversary is Dec 30th, so I have a double dose...

This year, I'm surprising her with a few days at a theme hotel. Look around in your area. They aren't super cheap, but they can be really fun. . Here's the local one I'm going too

Also, what about doing a 12 days of christmas thing, where each day, you get little gifts with cards and poems, etc. It's a lot of work sometimes, but I promise that they love it. Especially if you surprise them when and how they get it. You know, one in the morning in their shoes, and the next in the evening at dinner, etc. The anticipation of when and how you're going to get something is pretty fun.

Also, the book idea is great. My wife loves Jane Austen, so for her B-day I got her an edition of Pride and Prejudice from 1909, a nice leather one. I looked into a first edition, but could only find a second edition for $6,000. Lol, that will have to wait for a few years.

And the number one thing you can do is something from yourself...write her a poem, book of poems, a story, a song, anything from yourself they will love.

good luck,
dragonb
