Plane carrying 250+ crashes in Iran

An Iranian military plane with about 270 troops on board has crashed into a mountain, according to state television.

Authorities say there are no survivors.

Revolutionary guard officials are thought to have been among those on board.

A government official, who declined to be named, said the crash appeared to have been caused by bad weather.

He said the plane had gone down about 50 miles (80km) from Kerman, which lies 670 miles (1,075km) south east of Tehran.

The plane, which lost contact with air traffic control over seven hours ago, was travelling between two cities in southeastern Iran.

State television said the plane was travelling between the cities of Zahedan and Kerman, heading towards the border with Afghanistan.


Hmmm wonder where they were heading? A Picnic maybe?

US involved? maybe, maybe not. Are we still controlling the weather over there?
