swinging yours arms

Walking through Home Depot today, I started wondering why I swing my arms with each step! So, I tried a little experiment keeping them by my side when strolling the isles. Felt very weird, probably looked strange to anyone that noticed. I dont think u need to swing for balance, cause I was just as stable not swinging to the step. Wonder why we do that Slow day today, ok?

Why do we close our eyes when we sneeze?

Must be something to do with Home Depot. Makes you wanna jive and boogie, perhaps?

I think swinging your arms has to do with inertia - it helps power you along a bit. Otherwise dead, non-moving arms will create wind drag and slow you down!

Well, actually, I made that up, but it sounds good!

Cheers
Mick

edit: Boy, some ppl take this question seriously! Look here and here!

Well, there's another excuse to hate your hips! (8read the second link that Mick posted )

I'd like to see what that guy had to say about carrying something in one hand, vs. two hands etc.

I like the eyeball sneezing one gerbil. Funny stuff while I have U-2 cranked up here after a long day at the office.

I love Calvin's Dad. Such an inspiration to father's worldwide.

Missed out on my copy though. Does that make me a useless dad?

Interesting idea. A book on being a dad. Something like this:

How to become a father (G-rated version)
How to avoid changing nappies
Encouraging breast feeding so you avoid getting up in the middle of the night
Cool toys that dad can play with too!
Starting school - tips for chatting up other kids' mums
Adolescence - coping with your kids' boyfriends/girlfriends without going to jail
Leaving home - when you should do it
etc, etc
Sounds like a swell idea! I hthink I'll get my kids started on it right away!

Cheers

Hey mickwish! I had some pretty good Aussie buddies in the Nam! They were the beer drinkingest guys I have ever know. Couldn't hold a lite to them. Sure was glad they were on our side, I tell ya!
