Anthrax victim widow files lawsuit

for $50 million. This is taking it a little to far. She is sueing the Gov. because she claims that security was lax at the base where the Anthrax might have been stolen.

I agree it's a little over the top, but maybe it's the only way to make the agencies who deal with these things take security seriously!

50 mill is BS period. the way I look at it she is raping me and every other tax paying person. and even if she has concrete proof that the government was negligent 50 mill is still way over the top!

Never gonna happen. The legal industry has worked long and hard to make this kind of extortive manipulation possible....I don't believe they'd willingly submit to being forced into a position of common decency.

Its been two years since her husbands death, she should be well on the road to going on with her life but instead she is going around trying to sue and get some money out of the deal. she should just enjoy what life she has and stop worring about if she can get some money out of someone.

I agree, but...

We should bear in mind, this woman did not file this suit, her attorney did.

And I have no doubt this attorney contacted her and convinced her that she had a case.

I'm also guessing that he has taken the case on "contingecy"....that is, he gets maybe 30% of the award.

Let's see..30% of 50 million is...an obscene amount of money!

Happens all the time. Loathsome, and absolutely LEGAL!!
