I thought you were talking about Dolly Parton. Now that would be upsetting.

Looks like she suffered from premature aging. This could prove some interesting scientific data...

I am interested to see what kind of pubs come from the research that is spawned from this. I bet they got a lot of good info on aging. Hopefully they got a cell line from her to isolate the genes that caused the rapid onset of aging, provided it was a genetic abnormality and not something that was a side-effect from the cloning process.

PS- if we didn't play with mother nature, we wouldn't have any medicines or cures for any illnesses. I don't want to start a debate on cloning, but if you would like to discuss that, please start a different thread.

Thoughts on cloning

Say you take a forty year old woman and have her cloned. When the baby is born it will be 40 years old already. You can't make the genes young again can you?Just wondering.

probably someday terminal
just because most people dont understand cloning, and try to stop it for religious reasons ect, it will hopefully, and probably, continue and become more advanced

I pretty sure moset DNA /RNA strands don'ty hold age data as far as we know. The actual reason why we gae is a bit of an unknown in itself.

So a 40yo's genes are 40yo, sort of. Like putting a tissue implant from an older person into a younger person. Doesn't get older in that part than they do.

Poor Dolly, a rough life for a sheep.

Cheers
Mick

Some other info

I think I posted once before on this subject.

Anyway I think this might be the consequences of cloning.I'm not
against cloning.I just think were years away from doing it successfully.Like maybe a hundred.
