Friends or Enemies

Great closing statement last night by Neil Cavuto on fox news. He said it's ok to quote him
http://www.foxnews.com/column_archive/0,2976,10,00.html

"Friends don't stab you in the back. Enemies do.

Friends don't cozy up to butchers. Enemies do.

Friends don't put profit over principle. Enemies do.

Friends don't spend more time trying to protect their oil interests over the world's interests. Enemies do.

Friends don't smile in public, but plot in private.

Friends don't say they love peace, but fail to protect that peace.

Friends don't cajole, or lie, or look at their own good over the greater good.

Friends know their friends' enemies could likely be their own enemies.

Friends know a friend's threat is their threat.

Friends know when a friend needs help and they give it.

Friends aren't arrogant, or condescending.

They don't second-guess in public. They seek understanding in private.

They don't ridicule the ones who stood by them and instead run to the side that would otherwise destroy them.

Friends don't strike deals with the devil.

Friends know the difference between coveting their precious Euro and just being a total "zero."

Friends know these are unfriendly times.

Friends know war isn't pretty, but ignoring evil isn't pretty either.

You stick by those who stuck by you, or you get stuck yourself.

I respect far more the enemy, who "tells" me he's my enemy and he is, than the friend who "swears" he's my friend and is not."

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Swamp

Oh, ho-hum. The French have troops in Afghanistan; they had troops in Bosnia. Just because they're not supporting an invasion of Iraq right now doesn't mean they're "cheese-eating surrender monkeys;" according to this morning's New York Times, (FRYYY) most Americans agree with them.

Has anyone else read, seen or heard that it is GERMANY and FRANCE that have all the billions of dollars of oil contacts with Iraq not the USA. Not to mention supplying Iraq with all the machinery and supplies many of which are banned.

cheese-eating surrender monkeys
Frog-eating surrender monkeys
Snail-eating surrender monkeys

What ever in the end just monkeys

Bush said if you are not with us you are against us.

Lets bomb germany and France as well. jk but it is interesting that they have the interests in Iraq and that is the country they decide not to go into.

It is also interesting that when the US government had less info and a democrat leader they were not opposed to action 1998

In support of surrender monkey theory though.

The war in bosnia was fought from the air. ("not very brave" shahani)

This one is likely to be fought on the ground (surrender monkeys might be afraid of that.)

And do you think when the US rolls over BigUgly's army and set's up a new gov't that the new powers-that-be will honor the old oil contracts? I don't think so. Ergo, German and France are a tad concerned. Just as the US would be if it were in their shoes.

So they put money against right.

At least be honest about it. Don't take the high moral ground when your real fear is that you are simply afraid of losing money.

C'mon, Ep, be serious. Do you really think the US went into Kuwait to liberate the Kuwaitis???

The fact there was that if Saddam the Moron had been allowed to keep Kuwait, he would have had control over 25% of the world's oil reserves. And THAT is why we went in. Did we admit to that? Nooooo.

Fighting for oil is bad for your image in the press. Voting against war because of oil concerns is also bad press. The NATO anti-war crowd isn't doing anything the US hasn't done a dozen times.

25% Up from what with just iraq.

Kuwait asked for help, kuwait is an ally, (and they have oil)

Is Saddam an ally of france and germany? Not a business interest are they contractually bound to help defend them?
