Mini DV camcorder advice

I have been looking an MiniDV camcorders and can't make up my mind on which one I want. I kind of like the Canon series (ZR70), I also like the JVC series (GR-DVL520U). The area I live in doesn't have alot of selection on hand that you can use them to make a final decision. I also am thinking of the Hitachi DVD camcorders. Does anyone have one of these? I can't seem to decide. I really would like one with more optical zoom, and less digital because frankly, I'm not impressed with the digital zoom quality. I will also be getting an Adaptec DuoConnect USB2/Firewire card for editing and the HP Photosmart 7350 printer for the still printing side. Any experience with either of these would also be helpful

Well i also have questions about this kind of stuff and i would like to hear what all of you think about a mini dv camcorder. and are there any good sites with camcorder reviews. any personal recomendations? i'm in the 800-1000 range. thanks!
