One of the most popular models is battery tender,

They make several models that are fully automatic, and if you want they come with a little wire harness to hook onto your battery while in place on the bike. Battery tender has about the best name in the industry. Even here in Tejas, some people put their bikes up in "winter"

but I keep mine ready for those unexpected warm days when I can break one out for a ride.
The thing thats nice about the harness, is you can leave it in place and if you get a nice day, just unplug it, fire up and go for a ride. Hope this helps out.
P.S> be sure to keep an eye on the electrolyte level over the winter, it can decrease and you don't want to run a cell dry. Most of the models listed only apply charge current when the battery needs it, so it should be okay. Some of the older trickle chargers would constantly feed the battery and it would eventually cause the electrolyte level to decrease.
