Joining the navy maybe
i might be joining the navy
i am not sure what i want to do with my life.. at all..
and i have nothing here anyway..no job.. no gf.. no friends
so it seems like it could be better then nothing
i had looked into it before but they said i would need 15 college credits, i have a GED
the guy called me today and said i might be able to get in anyway without it, so i am going down there tomorrow
im nervous.. i mean.. it would probably be fun, but its a huge change and stuff

You gotta do what you gotta do.
No job, no friends, no girl friends (this really sucks).....
Do you have a dog?
Does he like you?
Not meaning to be funny, but looks like you need a vacation to pull you outa the hole you seem to have fallen in.
Not saying I agree with your Mom. But making drastic decisions at the spur of the moment is not smart. What if you was cut out to be a musician?
I'd sleep on this for a week and not sign anything. Tell the dude your hand hurts from typing too much computer stuff and you'll come back later

the first time i went down there was a couple weeks ago, and i had thought of it since.. now that he says i may not need college, it seems like a better idea.. and i have a cat, but he is insane, and keeps me from sleeping with his constant meows and ripping molding off my door.....
all i can think of being, or wanting to be right now, is in IT, and i have tried around here with no luck.. i could probably get something like that in the navy

I did the navy.
Not a full tour, mind you. But I think it was one of the better moves I did. I am sorry sometimes that I got out when I did (me and uncle Sam had a contractual dispute) I had just finished my schooling.
From my experience, I would suggest the branches of the military in this order.
Air Force - general consensus is the easiest and has the equivalent training. Not front line usually
Navy - Just about as easy but probably hardest on family. This includes future family you may not have right now. Most likely never see the enemy up close.
Army- Harder but more comradely very likely to see combat. Sitting in mud many long hours.
Marines - You are part of a band of brothers comradely up the yin yang. Tough, tough, tough, most often it will change you. Most likely to see real combat. Sitting in mud many days.
PS pick you MOS (job) with carefull thought to what you may like to do on the outside.

I think sometimes a couple years in the service can really help you develop some inner strength and ambition.
If nothing else you will get some skills and then at least know what you don't want to do. But why the navy? Man I get sea sick!
I'd shoot for the Army or Marines!

| i rarely see my dad.. i live with my mom and brother.. we are not close, at all.. i barely talk to anyone, and barely see my mom since she works alot, and my brother is a hermit artist who stays in his room... future family.. i dont have a girlfriend or anything.. so i think my chances might be good if i got back after being away a while...
the army just doesnt seem right for me.. and i probably couldnt get into the airforce or marines

And let's face it, you're in a rut at home. This could be a great way to break out of it and see some sights!
I think it is a good idea. Go for it! Adventure is good.

Are you, like, built strong and powerful or kinda wimpy like me? Because Navy life is very strenuous both mentally and physically.
And I doubt they'll let you take your cat. Anyways she'll get frightened or sick or jump off.
But I see you getting depressed. Don't feel bad. There are many who think they have no friends, gf, no job, mom always at work, brother in his room and so on.
Take a deep breath. You're a lot smarter than you think. Writing here as you do.
All I say is sleep on it.
