Well, ever since I installed Windows 2000, I really have had no need to reboot unless I'm installing something that requires it.

yeah win2k is pretty good! i like it! i just rebooted it because of PGP and because of my CD ROM problem but that's all!

I am a bad example because I power off my machine every night at home. XP has been relatively good to me once I worked out a few installation kinks.

win2k has been great for me.. no crashes in its life, except a couple in one day caused by me and bad drivers.. i used ones i knew were wrong, oh well
my experience:
win98: dies after a couple days naturally
winxp: froze every couple minutes
mandrake: i kill it very often
knoppix: i kill it very often

Weeks or months. Only when its required like some software/driver installation.

I've got XP Home. I reboot every few days, not because it's crashed, but because the resources are slowly getting eaten up by programs that never give back all the memory. Actually, it hasn't crashed since last April (and that turned out to be a bad DDR module.
