Well i am visiting my dad and step mom for the weekend and my step mom was called in to do D mat handling. she is doing training for 2 days and then leaving. Can't tell us where she is going, and when she will be back. it really sucks

along with my step mom getting called out i have several friends in the air force leaving very soon. Again they can't tell me when there leaving and how long they will be gone for.

Id just like to say to thanks to all that fight for our freedom and keep this place safe. may everyone who leaves comes back safe and sound!!!!

I second that!

You are lucky to have parents that are unselfish enough to put themselves on the line in support of their country!

Brave souls indeed!

Well I am the military member so I know exactly how you feel buddy...to be honest I'm always away from home and I have been since 1996.

I miss all of my family up in PA very badly, but I want to make sure that they have a safe future to live in...sure it's tough and there are days when I wish I was home, but being in the Air Force brings on a great sense of pride.

I know that I can get "the call" at any time to pack up and head out to God knows where and that's a scary feeling sometimes...the person I miss most when that happens is my 5 yr old son Tyler.

Military life, for the most part, is not an easy one...

Thanks for all of your support though, it's important to know that the people of this wonderful nation are behind us.

Work For our men ( and women) in great peril

Although I never had to fight when I was in the Navy, many freinds were lost during Viet Nam. I humbly post this poem in their rememberence and for those who about to enter battle. God Bless our Soldiers and Sailors

In Your Honor

Unselfishly, you left your fathers and your mothers, You left behind your sisters and your brothers. Leaving your beloved children and wives, You put on hold, your dreams—your lives.
On foreign soil, you found yourself planted To fight for those whose freedom you granted. Without your sacrifice, their cause would be lost But you carried onward, no matter the cost.

Many horrors you had endured and seen. Many faces had haunted your dreams. You cheered as your enemies littered the ground; You cried as your brothers fell all around.

When it was over, you all came back home, Some were left with memories to face all alone; Some found themselves in the company of friends As their crosses cast shadows across the land.

Those who survived were forever scarred Emotionally, physically, permanently marred. Those who did not now sleep eternally ‘Neath the ground they had given their lives to keep free.

With a hand upon my heart, I feel The pride and respect; my reverence is revealed In the tears that now stream down my upturned face As our flag waves above you, in her glory and grace. Freedom was the gift that you unselfishly gave Pain and death was the price that you ultimately paid. Every day, I give my utmost admiration To those who had fought to defend our nation.

I'm not a praying man, but they do have my well wishes...
Hope they come back safe and sound. Somebody's gotta keep GZ in line
