Bye, bye Clean Air Act.

From the New York Times.

SENATOR HIRES COAL LOBBYIST

Senator James M. Inhofe, the Oklahoma Republican who is chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, has hired a mining lobbyist to oversee clean air legislation. The lobbyist, John Shanahan, is director of air quality issues at the National Mining Association. The president of the association, Jack Gerard, said he was pleased that a person who "intimately understands the industry" would be in a position "to educate the administration and Congress on the importance of coal in meeting our nation's future energy needs." Frank O'Donnell of the Clean Air Trust called the hiring "a sign that Inhofe's top priority is to protect the coal industry."

coal.. as our future
Since when!?

Well.. I hope the senator was paid well
I imagine he'll be bringing in a paycheck for profit sharing for the coal industry for awhile

Thankfully we have senators representing our voice in congress
Isn't there a way for another member of congress to step up and say WHOA! WTF are you doing!?

I don't understand why my fellow Oklahomans keep re-electing Inhoff. He has been nothing but bad fo our state.

Hmm, sounds like the computer industry. Hiring hackers to oversee security.

Umm actually I understand hiring hackers to oversee security.. well "reformed" ones at least.. there's more money in security than there is in hacking...

There's no money in clean air

Could be another victory for the Constitution if some of those draconian "pollution" mandates are removed. The Federal government tries to justify their stepping out of bounds with the interstate commerce clause of the Constitution.

Almost all Federal agencies have no jurisdiction in the several States, yet the courts allow them to ride rough shod over us all.

KAknight you of all people, being a resident of Tulsa, should know how stupid this EPA crap is getting.

I am proud to say I have voted for Jim Inhofe each time he has come up for re-election. I have had more than enough of the tax and spend, liberal democrats cleaning out my wallet.
