Why "Newbee"..?

I know that if you join a website or forum you are considered to be a newbee... Why a newbee? why not a new guy on the block, someone please tell me what newbee stands for...

Newbie is the commonly used term for someone who is new at anything.

Therefor:
A new member = Newbie
A beginner in a field = Newbie

and so on.
