Why dont NewEgg ship overseas?

Hey all, couldn't decide where to post this, so i thought here would do... please move it mods if it should be somewhere else.

I've just been wondering why places like newegg dont ship overseas. Cuz even including shipping costs & conversions i reckon i could get componants cheaper that way than buying it here in australia sometimes...

There are a few on-line US retailers that ship o/s, but not many of the good ones.

Maybe we should start a petition or something.

BUT - if you check VERY carefully some of the Oz retailers have just as good prices as NewEgg when you take shipping into account. Gotta search around, though.

Cheers

Price comparison by a popular finnish magazine:

P4 3.06GHz, Fi: 828€. U.S.: 599€
XP 2700+, Fi: 449€. U.S.: 323€
512MB 333DDR, Fi: 127€. U.S.: 110€
ATI R9700PRO 128MB, Fi: 444€. U.S.:313€
Logitech Z640, Fi: 93€. U.S.: 55€

The price difference is horrible...

Heck, the shipping costs overseas are ASTONISHING!!

I re-shipped a modest package to Mick---$75 bucks!!!

Therefore and thusly, I have decided the following:

We should get together and create a Shipping Company. I mean, find some seaworthy old scow, and float her back and forth from San Pedro (Calif.) Harbor to Perth, Aussie land...anchors aweigh, me boys, we'll haul cargo at a fair price!!

Plus, we'll party on deck endlessly (and may I mention, with those adventurous women who wish to emigrate to Australia.)

(And on the way back, with those sweet Aussie gals who wish to emigrate to the U.S.)

I just don't see a downside to this plan....we'll make a fortune (and have a ball besides!)

I'll be in that, Knothead!! I'll be best mate (whatever that is )!!

Seriously, most of the shipping is a problem because of insurance premiums nowadays. Same with air freight. Even if you don't pay for specific insurance on a package, the carrier still has to have it. So unless we don't carry insurance (which might even be illegal ) I doubt we could do much better pricewise.

But the girl passengers sound like fun, though!

Cheers

Well, consider this... NewEgg has potentially lost $18,000 to $22,000 of business over the last few years because they won't ship to me. The sad part, is that I live about 80 miles from the U.S. border.

Meh. Their loss.
