Are they nutz?

Over half of NYC would refuse to go (much less work) in the building if it is one of the tallest.

Are they going to import the labor? And who are they going to lease the top floors to? (My fav answer: Bin Laden...)

Yeacccchhh! Who picks this s**t???

I find both of these ideas repulsive, and a hideous excuse for architecture.

I got nothing against tall buildings, per se, but let's build something with timeless beauty, huh? I think that half of NYC would be willing to bomb these monstrosities themselves!

I would prefer something more pratical, but I do like the idea that will be taller than the original. Let's thumb our noses at the terrorists.

IMO a nice monument, surrounded by a nice park, would be the better choice. But as we all know, money talks....

Land value and office space is a huge deal in manhattan obviously.
making it into a park "robs" (and I use that term extremely loosely given the situation) a land owner of some serious income.

Neither one would have offices anywhere near the top.

Actually, I kind of like the Libeskind, though I still think the Gaudi 1906 hotel design would be better.

I go for a taller stronger 747 proof kind with a anti ballistic laser. You can even use the laser on the fourth of july cool display.

Both look cool. Modern and hi-tek. I don't think they can make them 747 proof. maybe an invisible magnetic shield to repel airplanes/missiles like in the movies.

The area surrounding this location is pretty drab and these type of designs would add some pizazz.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a corner office on 278th floor with a sea view.
