Calorie/Weight Link?

How do you figure out how many calories it takes to gain a certain amount of weight?

For example, if I take in 2000 calories per day - but only burn off 1900 -> How much weight would I gain for that one day?

Thanks.

Well, I'm not sure that I can help much but one pound of fat has approx 3500 calories in it. So theoretically you'd gain two pounds a week. However, your body wastes some of the food and you probably burn more than you think doing little things, plus I don't know the values for muscle, not sure how many calories are in a pound of muscle. Anyway, just curious why you're interested in this? Are you trying to gain weight and of what variety? I may be able to help and if not I know there are atleast a couple of people here that can help out.

Brandon,
My dad has the equation written down on a sheet of paper upstairs along with a chart that tells you how many calories you'll burn, depending on what activity and for the time.
