Sheriff starts releasing inmates

Legislators allow new cuts to kick in

Portland, Multnomah County don't have aid for schools in plans

Portland schools to lose more days

Aside from all this unfair BS, one of the local middle schools by our home had classes canceled today due to Death Threats. Cripes.

Can we say Oregon just went deeper in hell now?

Alll them faces sums up my thoughts. Nothing more I can say.

Neo,

Just think if you had voted for universal health care. You would have a mass influx of bums and you could kiss your paycheck good bye.

Universal Health Care has nothing to do with measure 28. Measure 28 was only for a temporary 3 year increse of state taxes for schools, fire, police and prisons, the Oregon Health Plan, senior care and other services.
About Measure 28

As a result criminals are gonna get slapped on the hands and fined, read the sherrif releases inmates article.

Schools are going to get cut some up to 9 days others up to a whopping 19 days out of the school year effective this school year.

Elderly people are going to be shortchanged medically and fincially now.

People with critical mental illness are not going to get needed help.

Police offiecers are going to get laied off as well as firemen, parametics increasing the likelihood of longer wait times for emergencies.

Business are going to end up hiking thier prices for groceries and other products once they start feeling the sting of shopplifters and the police doing nary a crapping thing about it cuz they don't have the freaking budget to procecute these criminals because the courts are shutting the doors on these very criminals.

So us as consumers for being greedy and not willing to temporarly share our wages, we will suffer where its important. Expecially our children and our elderly.

Radar, need to look up what universal means. The choice of words was very poor and wording is unrelated to the state of oregon.

My point was the horrible concept had it been voted for, would have made the situation worse.

From what I understand, the bureaucrats in Oregon threatened this type of action if the people voted against the tax hike. So they're coming thru on their word... for once. I also believe this has happened before, when Measure 5 was passed a number of years ago. Can anyone from Oregon tell us why you keep voting for the worst lawmakers over and over again. You gotta get some people in there who will start cleaning house. You've got people in there who have basically hijacked your state. They're saying "If you don't give us what we want, we'll punish you by taking away necessities."

Glad I never had any aspirations of living in Oregon to begin with. Too close to California anyway. I guess it rubs off on ya.

Mr. Goodbytes.
Well I don't see it as threats. I see the need for it. We do need the funds. However I do agree we need someone else to clean up this state of its sorry state of affairs.

That is bad, it seems Oregon wants to imitate Quebec.

If it works like here, in a few days/weeks, the bureaucrats responsible for these reforms will vote themselves a raise.

Neo,

They are trying to take the power away from the people. Elect someone who will make the hard decisions on the finances, cutting as well as looking at taxes.

Radar,
Im not sure where you are coming from, are you implying that you would have voted No on this measure?

Granted we do need some other elected official who can better manage finances and as well make people belive he can do a better job and then people would be willing to support these things.
