Agreed. Schwartzkopf would be fine too.

Good movie!
I just watched a documentary on the History channel about the making of that movie. It was very interesting. They said it was pretty true to life, even though they did not have much help from the family because the producers approached the family. They asked for their input only a day or so after someone in the family died. They had to take some liberties int he movie, including the way he died. He didn't retire. He died 9 days after a jeep accident in Germany after the war had been won. Very anticlimactic for such a leader.

Good movie.

My father has a picture of the General 'relieving himself' in the Rhine.

My friends father-in-law had the 'honor' of being busted by the General - story goes - he was slogging along in the rain, along a road, he had his head down as it was pouring - a jeep pulled up and someone asked which road went where-ever - without looking up, he replied 'who the ef wants to know?' - well .... he relates that story with great pride.

I can remember who said it or exactally how it goes, but I remember someone once describing Patton as an "Mean SOB, but that is exactally what we need to win the war." I'd feel a lot better if we had someone like Patton running the show right now.

Ike Eisenhower would also be fine by me.
