Kids Anyone seen Enemy at the Gate?
Hi all,

Anyone seen Enermy at the Gate?

Just watched it on DVD & thought it was great

The story is set during the Second world war (battle of Stalingrad) & the duel between two snipers, one German & one Russian.

I would really recommend it.

i just finished watching it on DVD with my new DVD-ROM.

Its pretty good, did the Russians sound like they had english accents to you too?

I would definatly recomend it to any war movie fans,

Yep, first thing I said was that all the Russians were cockney

Still a good film though.

Hey! Reminds me.
I left behind at the Other Site a movie thread that had grown 80 long .

Howsabout a war movie thread?

I would recommend Adrej Wadja's ASHES AND DIOMONDS about Polish resistence fighters escaping through the sewers of Warsaw. Errrr...Actully, that was KANAL.

But his ASHES..was great ,too!

Recently re-watched on DVD Stanley Kubrick's Vietnam FULL METAL JACKET.
Movie is in two parts: One in Boot Camp;One "in Country".
Seemed better the first time-around.

P.S. Ever notice how some movies seem better or worse when you re-watch them from CinemaHouse ( ) to Home Theatre ( ).

P.P.S. If you don't have 5.1 stereo hooked up to DVD, you are missing out. Tremendous difference in many movies !

P.S. Almost every movie Ed Harris (the German colonel) is in (TRUMAN SHOW, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSE etc) is worth seeing just because he's in it.

I have that movie on DVD and have watched it several times. If you liked the movie, there are several WWII books written about dueling snipers.
(War of the Rats is one, can't really seem to remember anymore rightn now. )
