I Have Had Enough!
<RANT>
I can no longer take the stress at work. I do not like being held responsible for things there, that I am given no authority to do a darn thing about! For instance, at a team meeting, I was told that we had to have these locked drawers to drop our excess cash into during a shift at Box Office (Ticket Sales). One evening, I was chewed out by one of the mangers for being the only one that asked to have their drawer locked! I decided to ask the head manager if I was supposed to, and he confirmed it for me. Now I could fired if I am caught with that darn drawer unlocked, but the other managers don't give a rats backside, they only care of the 'inconvenience' of themselves!!!
Then, there is the problem of the locker room.. There is one upstairs in the brake room, and one downstairs, for the handicap workers to use. Wouldn't you know it? Not one locker has ever been free the whole time I have worked there!!!!! And this is with one of the managers posting notes. All those other creeps do, is either rip the notice down, or just cover it with their stuff.
I give up. Let them keep thier lousy job, I do NOT need the added stress!

Sorry to hear it's not working out, AC.
Sometimes it is NOT worth the stress and put-down just to keep your job. Sometimes it's more important not to let your life/health go to ruin because of your work.
BUT - if you're gonna find yourself in a desperate position if you quit, then sometimes you need to swallow your pride and hurt fior a while, and stay there while you look for something better.
It depends on the impact it will have on your family either way, IMO.
Your call. I know you've tried to put up with it up until now. Have you seriously been searching for other jobs at the same time? If not, maybe do that first. Then tell 'em to stick it when you've got an alternative lined up.
IMO, anyway
Cheers
Mick

This is classic demonstration poor leadership. Obviously the head manager has not brought his subordinate managers in line. Hence the lowest rungs deal with double standards. Pose the issue this way to the head manager: I have a problem, your subordinates and my bosses will not support me in following your rules. I need your help to implement your rules.

Actually Radar, it has become more of a 'Who is around to listen' policy anymore. They just don't seem to care anymore. Mick, Not to worry, financially we are ok, it won't kill us if I leave there. Thanks guys, I just needed to get that out of me, so when i tell them, I am a bit more calm.

Sounds to me like radars on the right track.
A friend of mine in a similar situation went to the head manager and complained in a business type manner. he also told him not to take his word for it. To come in and check for himself. ( you have to be calm and non-threatning, and have a well thought out plan of the points you want to make.)
to keep it short. the boss did, found my friend was right, fired the manager. The bad side was he(my friend) wound up being the new manager and hated the job.
The locker room issue smacks of discrimination, and could have a legal foot to stand on.
If your really just done with the place. Stay until you have a new job. (or not)
Then On " THE NIGHT FROM HELL" quit. (this works even better if you have a friend who calls in sick that night.)

I had thought of the 'Night From Hell' Idea, and I really like that! I just wish the weather around here would cooperate. We had been told there was to be 3 to 5 inches of snow....... Anyhow, I have a feeling that this weekend they are going to miss me........ Thier loss............
