Anyone else hate telephones?

I do, I hate to talk on them, answer them, and hate it when they ring nonstop all day,AAARG! Plus we have this ringer system that's like 85dbs, so when it rings you jump out of the chair. Then all 4 Girls yell I got it

I'll drive across town to keep from calling sometimes, I guess face to face is the method I prefer.I have to have a phone, but if it were just me, I would have one line plugged into the modem, and everyone could just use my messenger ID

Did I mention I have teenagers that are on the stupid thing all the timeEven when it does ring it's not for me.Now they have 3 way calling, not only are they on the phone, but with 2 other people

It's just not natural

Anyone else hate telephones as much as I do??

Me.

Have always hated them.

Always will.

Except when I need to make calls.

i usually check the caller id. if its someone i dont know or the everpresent unkown name unkown number i turn it on then turn it off. its amazing how persistant some of the calling computers are for the telemarketers. they'll call back a couple of times before they give up.

Phone... yea, dont like it. I prefer to just use it as a quick plan making tool. Otherwise, it annoys me. My convo's go like this:

"Hello"
"hey"
"Want to get food at XLocation at 7pm or Shoot some hoops at... or, etc.?"
"Sounds Good."
"Meet ya there."
"Cya."
"Yup."

Or something like that.

I like to save the conversation for when you are face-to-face. Most the time, I just let the phone ring until I either get up and check the caller ID or hear the Machine. If they dont leave a message, must not have been that important. .

With ya all the way BC.

I have to carry a cellphone at work every day. I get calls from the manager, co-workers, the wife. It has a message function that dispatch uses to notify us of new service calls. Did I say cellphone? Its really an electronic leash! Did I mention that I really loathe phones!!!

When I get home I refuse to answer the phone when it rings. My wife and kids know that if it's going to get answered, they will have to do it!

Hehehee, BC....that's putting it where everyone can see it!

Totally know what you're talking about w/ the teenagers!

The only time that I really hate telephones is their use by telemarketers. Actually, it's not the phone, it's the ******* on the other end, who's too cheap to do conventional advertising, and who also considers his business to be so vitally important that he has the right to interrupt people's activities to tell 'em about his stupid business!

I always find out what company it is, and then make a mental note never to do business with that company, EVER.

Hmmm...quite the rant...

Phones are mostly okay, I think it all depends on who's on the other end.

i'm tehniclly a "teenager" but i'm never on the phone. thats why there is the internet. also i hate my phone, some days it will ring like every 20min when i try to take a nap after school. have to answer it beacuse it might be the parents. most often its nothing on the other end but a click. grrrr and the ring is sooooo annoying.. i never miss it when i forget to charge it after a while... i can't hear any other phone from my room...

I take after my father; for me, a long phone call is about two minutes. I have a cell phone; I never use up my minutes. Basically, I hate 'em. But my job requires answering a lot of calls, so I'm not totally socially inept.

If there's a credit card company called MNBA where you are, DON'T EVER GET ONE OF THEIR CREDIT CARDS!!!!! I got one to support my University. Holy smokes did the phone start to ring ring ring. Do I want payment protection, do I want another card, would I like VISA cheques etc etc...even though I never even used the card yet....so I cut up the card. Next time the company callled, I told them "You guys harrass me too much, I've told you I'm not interested in anything yet you still call. I've already cut up your stupid card" so they sent me another one Now they call 3 times a day (I'm out of the house 14 hours a day) including Saturday! We recently cut our cable service too and went with satellite. Now cable keeps calling asking us to come back, why did we leave, we'll give you a deal etc etc....ARGH!!!!!! Whew, feelin' much better.....until Monday when it starts all over again.
