Someone I know personally got scammed this way, poor guy, tho it was just a US$1500 digital video camera. Worth the read.....

Nothing to do with smartness.
The guy was plain dumb sending $55,000 to Germany to an escrow account nominated by the seller.....
Geeez, how stupid can ya get?

Even dumber becuase he was leary about the first site and the 6 different accounts, then he goes and does it anyway .. dummy.

I did get Scammed around Christmas I got a refund,and all is well, but it could have been much worse.But this poor fellow, he should have thought about it, checked references,ECT. I have learned to do my homework,getting took is no fun

$55,000. Ouch, even for a fairly well-to-do person, that's got to hurt. I lost $600 to on-line auction fraud--the seller filed for bankruptcy shortly after getting my check. But that was a $600 lesson I'll never forget.

Strange that the first time he saw something suspusios when his money or the escrow accounts got closed that should have been warning flag not to do it again. So he does it a second time. I see several warning flags. One being six different accounts. I DON"T THINK SO BUDDY!!!
He was plain ole dumb.
