Paypal too risky
In a FS thread http://www.techimo.com/forum/t49759.html the member said he didn't want Paypal as payment. He said it was "too risky".
I have been using Paypal for a while now and haven't had a problem but do you think its too risky? Just looking for some feedback.

Nothing wrong with PayPal. It's no more risky that sending a check in the mail or using your credit card anywhere. A lot of sites conduct their business soley through PayPal and have done so for years.

There's been a lot of horror stories about PayPal randomly suspending user's accounts, freezing and/or withdrawing funds as they please... I don't really hear about those stories anymore, and maybe that's just because I really couldn't be bothered by PayPal anymore.
As far as the risk factor, I wouldn't say it's that risky at all. Although personally, I wouldn't keep large sums of $$ in my PayPal account at any point in time. I would also assume that the "risk" factor has been lowered, if anything, since the eBay buyout.

Don't visit the community forums alot. So lucky i saw this.
But, the reason why i said it is too risky is because the user can send me money via his PP account, or credit card and can say he never got the goods. People have done this and paypal will take the funds away. With a CC, they can just have their card company stop it.
With money order i get cash and i know i have it. Only way to be sure since there are so many trolls out there.

so iNeb, let me get you right.
Say you want to buy something from user X. You send user X the amount specified through paypal. User X then sends you the item bought and then you can turn around and tell paypal you never received the item from user X and they will reverse the charges?
That doesn't seem right to me, there must be more to it and I've never heard that happening to anyone.
I don't see Paypal doing something like that without investigating the non shipping of items when someone has paid through Paypal further.
You thoughts?

I have heard of it happening. And it's more easy with a credit card.
I use paypal for domains, hosting, ect and no bad to me yet.
It's not that easy, but has been done.

I just don't see how that is possible, if it were wouldn't there be lots of fraud happening with Ebay and Paypal. Word spreads quickly and no one would use Paypal anymore. I know I wouldn't if I knew this could happen. I just don't see it being that easy or possible.

Like i said, it's not very easy, but has been done many times.
And with a credit card it's VERY easy. You will probably lose your account, But that's good enough for a scammer to scam a big item
