Birthday Gift Suggestions ???

Hey guys!

I am in desperate need of a few birthday gift suggestions for my girlfriend of 2 years now...she's 26. I bought her a treadmill, gift certificates for a facial, pedicure, manicure, some girlie stuff, etc. for Christmas. For some reason, I can't come up with anything to buy her for her B-Day!

I keep asking her what she wants, but all I get is "surprise me".
NO!!! I don't want to surprise you, just tell me what you want!!!

So, can you guys offer up any suggestions for me please? I will beg if necessary...

Thanks a ton!!!
Mike

LOL

Personally, I prefer the romantic, feminine stuff for gifts on a birthday (no chain saws for me lol) or something relating to a personal hobby - if it's romantic, otherwise pair it with something romantic.

A gift is an expression of how you feel about her.. imo.

It's hard to go wrong with jewelry, and no, it doesn't have to be outrageously expensive! (big fallacy for all you out there screaming "GOLDDIGGER" lol) - Get her a trinket in her birthstone

How much time do you have and how soon is her birthday? What about a 2-3 day romantic getaway to some mountain or beach bed-and-breakfast?

If she works, definitely have flowers delivered to her office. She'll be the envy of all her gal-peers *If she likes flowers, defniitely get her flowers anyway.

LOL, believe it or not jewelry never even crossed my mind...the birthstone idea is super, thanks Socal!

Um, when is her birthday? Hehe, funny you should ask...it's not today or anything...uh, it's next Jan 23.

Ok, Ok...so I'm doing the "last minute" thing, but she hasn't given me ANY ideas!!!

Wonder if 1-800-FLOWERS can get them to her today...I'll give it a shot.

Much appreciated!

This is so funny, I had the same problem early on w/ my ex....

I'd ask, "What would you like?" She'd say, "Surprise me!" HAHAHA! BEEN THERE!

I didn't get her a chainsaw, but it WAS along those lines. For some reason, women don't want to say...plus, I think they enjoy watching you squirm, then seeing what you come up with by way of appeasement.

Seriously though, I did notice she started clueing me in...one time, she sent flowers to my office (it backfired, as there were several women there and they began teasing me, LOL!) but she DID allow as to how that's a really cool thing that she would like! So then I knew!

Send 'em colored vegetative matter. They will love you, plus you get control of the remote. Life is good.

I almost always get Marcia jewelry. But I really know her taste in those things, and I'm an amateur silversmith myself, so I'm pretty confident in that area. This year I bought her an art teapot (nonfunctional) at the Washington Craft Show in November. (Not the one below, but by the same guy.) I never buy her clothing (except for scarves) because I don't want to get her size wrong. She also likes books; we're both bookish types, and I can make a good guess there, too.

One of my rules is never to buy a present that I wouldn't like myself if I were in the same situation. That doesn't mean imposing my own tastes on someone: but if I don't like the present, how can I assume the recipient will? Marcia's Aunt Mary likes what I think are gooey sentimental things, and I can't exercise any judgment in selecting the right kind of gooey sentimental thing. So I get her a book that I think might interest her. (It better not have bad language in it, though.)

Alright, the colored vegetative matter is on the way. That remote is mine baby!

Knot, you know exactly where I'm coming from! I think she truly does enjoy watching me squirm because every time I ask her she just kicks back and smiles...ACK!!!

Theo, I would love to be able to buy her something like that (very nice BTW)...we just ate dinner at a friend's house this past Fri and his house was full of goodies like that...she was expressing how much she would like to obtain such things. She LOVES books too, but she got a good gift card to Barnes & Nobles for Christmas.

Hmm...you guys are sparking some ideas here and I am truly thankful.

I'd get her a new Dell 8550 with a DVD writer a 19 inch LCD screen, a 200GB drive, 1.5GB PC2700 RAM, Klipsch 5.1 speakers,.........

Maybe she can let you use it when she's gone working or something.

Ohhhh find Rusty's thread!
He just bought his wife some lovely gifts for her birthday!
I think one was a motorcycle helmet...
Think there was a vacuum or a blender in there too
Those are GREAT gifts for a woman! Ohhh maybe a steam cleaner... nothing says I love you like a rubbermaid steam cleaner

Disclaimer: I claim no responsibility if she cleans out all her stuff from the house leaving nothing but the steam cleaner

Dude! And she's still with you? From my point of view you just told her she's fat and ugly.

Take her out to romantic dinner. Or better yet, set the kid up with a sitter for the night and make her a candlelight dinner. Take the phone off the hook, and don't answer the door. Treat her like a queen. Wait on her every need. After dinner light some more candles in the living room. Put on some slow sensual music on. Move the coffee table aside and slow dance for a few songs.

Then have some wine and relax (her, not you ). Give her a massage...rub her feet. Make her melt in your hands. Then go draw her a hot bubble bath and let her veg for a little while. (Maybe quickly clean up your dinner dishes.) Then go join her in the tub.

You're on your own from there.
