Self defense in NYC. DA wants him to go to Rikers Island.

I need a link to this story I heard yesterday.

A black man hears something in his apartment late at night. He wakes up and grabs his gun (which he is in the process of registering from another state). He goes to investigate and there is a man about to enter the room with his son. He confronts the Criminal, who claims to have friends and then runs at the home owner, he naturally gives him the old double tap.

Any linkage and what do you think.

This happened in I believe brooklyn.

This is sad. Why can't a person defend themselves in their own home. This man needs a medal for good thinking and saving his son and himself, not any molestation by the courts. The laws of NYC make it nearly impossible to own a gun since the police chief has to OK every case. This hurts people, and if this man followed the incredulous laws of NYC, who knows what would have happened to this man and his son.

I can't find the story anywhere. My feelings are as stated above, provided there were no other unforeseen circumstances.

Hannity had it on yesterday. It really peeved me.

The guy has a job and moved here and has been trying to follow the laws to legalize his gun. The paperwork is in for a while.

I think the law should be simple. If you are in someones house with out their permission. Anything that happens to you is tough nuggies

Exactly! I was surprised when they "officially" passed a law in SC that said you could shoot a threatening intruder in your own home. To me, that is common sense. While I wouldn't go off willy-nilly and shoot someone in the dark w/o checking who it was, I wouldn't hesitate to protect my wife and myself.

I would be nice and double tap, though. I don't want them to suffer.

...Did I really say "willy-nilly"???

Firing twice in quick succession in the chest area to first off insure that the bad guy is stopped, I guess it also is to deal with the likelyhood of a miss.
