During the drive back from a delivery for the family buisness my friend hit a column that supports a freeway overpass in his truck. He hit it at about 50-60mph. He didnt die instantly from what the paramedic said but he didnt make it to the hospital alive. We went to highschool togther and seen each other here and there every so often. Last time I saw him was last summer when I caught upto him while mountain biking. We road together for 10 miles or so and chit chatted away. He telling me about his fiance and future plans w/ her.
I came home from work friday to see a bad accident on the local free way being shown on tv. It was horrible. I got the call saturday morning from my friend telling me Jason was killed in a car accident. I was in disbelief and my heart sank. He's only 27, he's only 27 w/ a bright future. He was the most friendly guy around and always had a smile on his face. He had the most obnoxious laugh. We used to ride together when I had my motorcycle. We used to try and jump his dads suburban over cross streets to see if we could get air. We used to bumper hitch in the winter. Every memory I have is good.
Today we said our last goodbyes. My friends from out of state fly in. People I havent seen in 10 years came togther. Its to sad when someone dies before their time. When I saw him laying there in the casket I was praying for him to get up and quite joking around. Its not funny I thought, get up, get up. He never did. So I said goodbye buddy.
Ive never lost a friend before and its truely tragic. He will live on in my heart and memories.
Id like to read the poem that was next to the guest book to you. I'll leave out his full name. Thanks for reading and please send a prayer for Jason...

We remember you
in the rising sun,
and in its going down.
We remember you.
In the blowing wind,
and in the chill of winter,
We remember you.
In the opening of buds
and in the warmth of summer,
We remember you.
In the rustling of leaves
and in the beauty of Autumn,
We remember you.
In the beging of the year
and when it ends,
We remember you.
As long as we live, you shall live too,
for you are a part of us as,
We remember you.
