I'm the store manager but if it wasn't for the fact that i've known these people since '97 I would fire them all today....

C'mon... That one about the silver paste is sort of true... If you glop it all all over your AMD CPU (not just the core), you could conceivably short-circuit the chip once power is applied. Those open contacts ya know...

Anyways, I do wish AMD would start using a heat plate like they did with the K6 series. Maybe we would not break our cores as much!

Hahaha... yeah, I reformatted my dad's computer and put Linux on it.

I had to drag him kicking and screaming because he kept saying "are you sure this computer (operating system) will have Yahoo (the webmail) on it? What about the opera (I installed opera on his old computer, but he seems to think that each web browser is its own internet)?

Oh yeah, and then "this new computer is slower than the old one" (meaning: yahoo page loads are slower now than before) after using it to surf for 20 minutes on the same winmodem, dialup service, and phone line that he'd been using for the last 2 years.

ARGH

Thankfully, I talked to him about it recently and he said that it's been 100% trouble free with the "new computer."
