Tree hugger falls out of tree and die's while protesting...

Talk about ironic... I find this extremely funny due to the fact that I hate tree huggers and the things they have done to me.

What things have tree-huggers done personally to you?

If I said I was a tree-hugger, would you hate me?

Does being a tree-hugger imply one is something other than someone interested in the environment - i.e., the planet and atmosphere that sustains our lives?

Just curious..

Bet you never thought you'd be thrown these questions, eh?

*btw, I did not read the article.

I hunt. They try to stop me. In fact, last year during hunting season, we were all sitting around camp and some of these people came through and called us some names. Blah blah blah they then said they were gunna go out into the area we hunt and make as much noise as they could because "mother nature" intended it to be that way. I take that sorda stuff very personal. I don't care if you love the enviroment and want to help save it. But don't do it by chaining yourself (or in this case live in) a tree so it doesn't get cut down. Breaking the law in anyway is not the way to get your message across.

If you were an extremist, leftist liberal who does stuff like that, then I'd say it's possible that I wouldn't like you... but I doubt your like that

Says the guy fell after he took off his safety harness. Not to smart... and I didn't realize it was 3 months old. I just happen to see it today... does that matter?

err- You just did... heh.. and I don't suggest anyone who is a tad bit sqeemish to visit that site... TRUST ME.

IMO I think it's funny that he died for something that doesn't give a damn about him.

"Hey guys, i'm going to go live in a tree" 'Why?'
"Oh because some guy told me if I do it, the world will stop cutting down tree's to make valuable items, such as: paper, houses for the poor(), firewood for the poor, homeless people on the streets and keeping America's economic up!" 'Sounds good!'

sounds good to me... eh? hehe...

Ugh... earth first.

They're beyond "tree huggers" and into the lunatic fringe.

They're huge on tree spiking, a practice that endangers perfectly innocent people just trying to make a living.

I did a google search just now to see if I could find a page explaining what it is, but all I could find were links to earth first pages beaming about what great work they had done.

Basically tree spiking is going through a tract of forest and hammering in deep metal (or now ceramic so they can't be detected with a metal detector) spikes. If it's enough in advance, there is time for the bark to grow over and recover the hole, if not, they paint the head of the spike brown or otherwise camo it.

Then a man, whose job is hazardous enough as it is comes along with a chainsaw and unwittingly saws into a spiked tree. His chainsaw hits the spike and it either rips the chain sending it flying or causes his saw to kick back severely, in either case risking either removing body parts or even worse killing the operator.

It's even worse if they purposely spike the tree high so that the operators of the huge saws within the mills are at risk, because those bandsaws are usually about 20 feet long, 6 inches wide, and operate at incredibly high speeds and causing one to shatter by hitting a spike will send out shrapnel that can pierce bulletproof glass.

Yay environment, we got another one of 'em

Makes me sick.
