Championships this weekend!

Well since I know the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl
I know they're going to win the NFC tomorrow!

And the other game is a bit tricky. Oakland's the clear favorite, but those Titans are on one heck of a roll. I'll stick with the vets on this one though, Oakland.

FYI, the National Football League (NFL is divided up into two conferences, the NFC and the AFC. The winners from both conferences play in the Super Bowl for the "world" championship.

My god I just can not support an industry which pays trained gorillas more than doctors and teachers.

take your average football player and their intelligence and put them in with the rest of working america they will bring up to say 60,000 bucks. You are not telling me that you could pay your athletes 100,000 dollars and make them very happy. Of course that is to say prior to the huge pay scale was instituted.

me throw ball, me hit you, ut oh me fall down. Me thinks you should cut the pay back to reality. Lower the ticket prices and put sports back in perspective.

That's why I enjoy College football so much more than pro; and why collegiate sports will always top my list of what to watch!

Do I think pro sports players get paid too much...? In some cases, but in reality it's much like movie stars. It's their entertainment value that gets them the paycheck. Right or wrong that's the reality of it. And intelligence has nothing and should have nothing to do with it. Each individual is blessed with different talents, and has the right to take advantage of them, be it saving a life or catching a touchdown pass.

Skill is what should drive it but you could buy that skill for pennies on the dollar as these people do not have the ability to do much else.

I guess what bugs me more than anything is, the number of kids who think they are going to make their millions in sports and shirk the reality of an education. If for nothing more than that I feel we should insure they are not something to be idolized. Virtually every normal human has the ability to learn. But only a few freaks have the genetic ability to become star athletes.

All these high pay checks do is put sports out of reach of many common folks. bring tickets back to 3 bucks for floor seats and pay the mental midgets a little better than minimum wage and lifetime healthcare for their broken bodies.

They do get paid too much, but they're paid because they're darn good and because they are selected out of millions of americans who would LIKE to play for millions of bucks. Still...
