I just saw the History Channel's documentaries on Saddam last night. They are very telling and they had a lot of info that I was surprised to see (not because of the content, but because I thought a lot of that stuff was classified). The results were shocking, even to me. He has tons of stuff that still remains unaccounted for.
The two shows I watched were:
Why Can't They Kill Saddam? - Jan. 15
Saddam's Arsenal - Jan. 15
They will have plenty on the subject this week and the list can be found here:

The first talks about Saddam's path to power from being raised by a widow (his mom) and a heavily abusing step-father who had him steal chickens for the family, to the dictator he is today. Stories were told about how he was ruthless from the beginning and how he performed his first political murder at age 18. They say when he was caught stealing chickens, he would poison them instead of giving them back to the owner, out of meanness. They also showed and discussed his various means of torture and how the population walks on egg-shells for fear of being literally dropped in a vat of acid (one of his favorite forms of torture).
The second is a conglomeration of info that outlined Saddam's nuclear attempts that began in the 70's and listed what they have found and what is missing. He was said to have enough biological and chemical weapons stores to kill everyone in the world 3 times. They gave video of how the inspectors were treated and showed them inspecting one site where trucks hauled weapons grade uranium purifying materials out the back gate on flatbed trucks. They say that all Saddam needs to become nuclear capable is to obtain weapons grade uranium. They have developed and bought materials for making this and many integral parts have been confiscated when being smuggled into Iraq. Very interesting and it gives proof of Saddam's attempts to get the bomb and shows a little of why little has been found so far. In the words of Mr. Deed's butler (Adam Sandler movie), he's "very sneaky".
If you get a chance to watch these, I HIGHLY recommend them. They are integral information for anyone who has an opinion on the war in Iraq.
