All car enthusiasts please read.

Let's not turn this into a ricer bashing thread. This has ramifications for ALL car enthusiasts in Ontario. It's Canadian, but your support would be appreciated. **warning, language**

ALL street racers (domestic or import) should be punished, law abiding enthusiasts should NOT.

That's why my current project car will be a sleeper, I will even remove the stock rear model letters as it would draw too much attention.

I agree entirely with the punishment of illegal street racing. If I do it someday, it will only be on a track designed for this.

And I think that Hondas with rear wing larger than the actual car body should no be legal. Lowering too much shouldn't either. What happens if you lose your bumper (or any part) while going over a crossroad and the car following hits it ?

There are lots of things that should be "illegal". Those folks who have that big Nike swoosh on their rear windows. How can you say that doesn't impede your vision? Or the combat style wings (my friend put one on his Talon) he could barely see out his rear view mirror. The folks with the blue bulbs that look like a rainbow blinding the crap out of me, the cool cars with so much bass the pictures fall off my walls...etc etc the list goes on....but this new law is just wrong.

Well, you can pretty much paint your rear window completely so you can't see through it, it won't be illegal. You'll have a huge blind spot, but think about it...Cargo Vans have no rear windows, and trucks don't come with a rear bumper as standard equipment ( at least they didn't ). AFAIK, you need a windshield, lighting, fenders, a front bumper, rear license plate, and signals to be street legal.

Are Canadian cops really that bad?

RedFury, you can NOT do that to a car around here. You can't even put limo tint on the back windows of a car.

Yah, cargo vans don't have rear windows but they usually have VERY large side mirrors to see behind them.

Your first link should have a 'language warning'.
I get your point though.

Where I live there aren't so many 'tarted up' cars.

But if you carry some horsepower and like to show off to your friends...

Doom! The cops here have laws to impound vehicles for doing burnouts on public roads!

1st Bust, 24 hrs. 2nd Bust, A week! 3rd Bust, You dont own it anymore!

Draconian with a Capital D!

Now "That Sucks" BigTime!

Hah! Local Police station is about 2 blocks from me and I have to drive thru the employee parkinglot to get home---the Canadian police would be towin most of the California policemans cars if they swooped thru there...
