Heck I am no chemistry major but I could see protiens making many tastes depending on their combination.

Am I wrong?

My wife says it is salty

What's it's level of acidity? Bases are sour, bitter, acids are sweet, salty, I thought? It's been a few years though.

i thought salty stuff was neutral, water&salts are neutral. acids are sour like lemons or vinegar, bases are i guess bitter, or taste like soap.
