got a remote starter today..

for my truck. wifey doesnt know abouit it yet. i m sick of jumping into a cold vehicle after working 10 hours and its 430 am.

its pretty cool. i ll give it the ultimate test at 430 am tomorrow

i was considering trading in the truck down here and springing for a newer one,and she approved.

so i saved us around $5000.00 by purchasing the r.s. instead of a new(er) truck

now if that aint female financial logic.... (she has finally influenced me)

Will you do like most people I see and start it when you're 10 feet away from the truck or will you start it from inside the building a few minutes before getting out ?

Female financial logic... like when my wife buys expensive crap we don't need because it was 25% off. Usually the conversation that follows goes...

Wife: "You like the [insert expensive piece of useless crap] I bought?" (flashing it around like she just won a trophy)

Me: "How much was it?"

Wife: "25% off!"

Btw, I'm on the lookout for a 17" flat panel monitor on sale for 25% off. She'll be elated that I saved so much money.

YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

I've had mine for a little over a year, and wouldn't a a truck w/o one now!

Word to the wise, though - they're buggy. I had mine pro installed by one of our suppliers that does nothing but remotes & alarms.
System didn't want to play well with the existing fact equipment on my truck. It'd work great for a while, then get flaky, then work...

They replaced the system module three times before deciding it just wasn't compatible. Whole system was removed & replaced with a newer version with more features.

Works great now.

hehehe...just wait til that first time you start it unknowingly when the remote button hits something else in your pocket!!
Honey, why's your truck running???

Oh, yeah - don't forget to leave the heater on, it's a pain to have it run 20 minutes, only to walk out & still have a cold truck!

LOL, I thought about doing the same for my 77, but I would have to go out there first to get it ready to start. And then again, I hardly drive the 77 in the winter, therefore it would be pointless.

Congrats on the rs Draboo. I know I would love to have one in my car, but then I would be doubling(maybe even tripling) the value of my POS car.
