Where can I get "putting-green" grass? Or that is to say grass that grows really slowly and uniformly?

What you're looking for is called "Tift-Green"

It was developed at a University in Ga, near Tifton, I think it was ABAC, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

The grass is pretty easy to grow, it will grow in gravel !
You must have some water on it or it will die.

In New Mexico it may be tough to grow, check with the local extension agent for grasses that flourish in your area.
