On Tuesday Jan 7th, I let my dog out in the front yard to go to the bathroom (as I do every night) and she ran right up to another dog that happened to be in my yard. The other dog rolled over on its back and didn't fight my dog, and she had a cut above her eye. I took her to the dog-ER and had her checked out and she is fine (may have been hit by a car, nobody knows). I let the local shelters know about her but so far no one has claimed her and she does not have a microchip ID tag.
She is a 2 year old 50 lb American Staffordshire Terrier or American Bulldog (or a mix). She is very friendly with people, comes when you call her, likes to play fetch, rides in the car very well, likes to be near people and always looks up at you to make sure she has your approval. Very loyal. Likes to sit in your lap if you're on the ground with her. She seems to know the command "sit". She is an incredibly strong dog and loves walks (actually, she walks you but she is not uncontrollable).
I want to keep her but unfortunately she doesn't get along with my dog. She is fantastic around people though. So far I have seen her act very friendly and socially towards 6 different people (furious tail wagger).
She needs to be spayed but that's only $20 through the Humane society and she comes complete with a harness/leash, an already performed Petco bath/flea-dip and $300 worth of chest x-rays and blood work plus a write-up from a vet (normal results). We've been calling her Molly but only for two days so you can likely give her a new name.
She really is a sweet/friendly/cool dog and needs a good home. If you're in the bay area (I'm in the Napa/Vallejo area) and could offer this dog a good home (preferably without other pets), and would integrate her into your family life, play with her and do daily walks (and not just stick her out in the back yard), please let me know. She probably needs a yard to run around in unless you would be able to walk her daily. The alternative is to take her to the pound where she faces death after 6 days.
Cost to you: $0. Add dog food and you've got yourself a loyal, loving companion for the next 10-12 or so years.
